I began my movement coaching training in 2021 and have been working with clients while building my qualifications ever since.
What I love most about my work is helping clients make their movement more efficient and effortless, which often also helps relieve pain conditions. Whether it’s one-to-one sessions or group workshops, seeing someone walk away feeling lighter and able to move more freely is the most rewarding feeling!
My journey into fitness and movement coaching began with my own experiences. I’ve struggled with chronic back pain since I was 11 years old. Despite seeing specialists, no one could explain why I experienced such pain, which often left me bedridden.
Years later, I was told that I could live pain-free if I stayed on painkillers for the rest of my life, but that wasn’t an option I could accept. That’s when I discovered Anatomy in Motion, and for the first time, I was able to relieve my pain through simple, natural movements.
This was a game-changer. I used to think, like so many others, that living with pain was just part of getting older. I was so relieved to find out that it isn’t! I knew I had to share what I’d learned with others, which led me to pursue this career.
People often ask me what a movement coach does. My role is slightly different from other fitness professionals.
I work with clients to reduce pain, improve mobility, reconnect with their bodies, and bring them into more optimal alignment. Think of it as a combination of rehab and pre-hab. I identify restricted or missing movements and use simple corrective techniques to restore natural movement patterns and better posture.
The best part? I give clients the tools to take control of their own bodies so they can prevent future issues and avoid falling back into limiting postures.
I offer:
My goal is to help everyone—from those with chronic pain who feel they can’t exercise to athletes who want to push their limits—achieve optimal alignment and live life to the fullest.
In the future, I plan to introduce sport-specific coaching, teaching clients how their joints and body parts should move during activities like sports or gym exercises. This will help them perform at their best.
I’ve always been passionate about understanding the body, and I knew that becoming a personal trainer was the next step in my journey. Storm Fitness Academy was the perfect choice for me.
The course offered a wealth of knowledge, from anatomy and health to the business and client relationship side of things. But for me, the standout feature was the incredible support from Jon. Learning from someone with so much experience and an open mind has been inspiring.
The workshops with other trainers have also been invaluable in expanding my confidence and knowledge. I’ve gained so much from this experience, and I’m excited to keep building on what I’ve learned.
If you have a little voice telling you to pursue something, listen to it—it might just change your life!
It may seem like the fitness industry is crowded, but there’s always space for passionate and skilled professionals. Too many trainers go through the motions without true joy in their work. Study your craft, learn from those with more experience, find your niche, and become someone others aspire to work with. When you do that, every day feels exciting.
