Zayan Khan is a dedicated fitness professional and founder of The Muscle Clinic. How long have you been a fitness professional, and what do you enjoy most about the profession?

“I have been a fitness professional for 2 years now, and the thing I enjoy most is teaching people that getting in shape doesn’t have to be as hard as people make it seem. It can be done with a little bit of knowledge in regards to nutrition, training, and recovery. You don’t have to meal prep for 2 hours a day, nor do you need to spend endless hours in the gym!”

What inspired you to become a fitness professional?

“As a kid, despite doing boxing for 10 years, I always had a belly. I searched all over the internet trying to find ways to get rid of it—200 sit-ups every morning before school, training with black bin bags, doing endless cardio—and none of it seemed to work. That’s when I decided to get qualified. I wanted to get rid of all the fitness myths in the industry and teach people the actual way of getting in shape without insane diets or crazy workouts like I used to do.”

Describe what you do as a fitness professional and the services you offer

“As a fitness professional, I help people lose fat, build muscle, and feel more confident in their own skin. I also focus on dispelling fitness myths, showing people that it’s not as hard as they think, and they can enjoy life while staying in shape.

I offer 1-2-1 online coaching that includes personalised plans, exercise tutorials, nutrition guidance (calories, macronutrients), and a nutrition guide to help people understand food. Weekly catch-ups and progress tracking are also part of the package.

For those who may not be fully committed or cannot afford 1-2-1 coaching, I offer a 20+ page nutrition guide. This guide teaches the importance of a balanced diet, how to calculate calorie intake, and manage your diet for life. It covers everything from macronutrients to supplements, meal plans, and food hacks—helping individuals create a sustainable diet while enjoying the foods they love.”

What advice would you give to aspiring fitness professionals?

“Don’t just do it for yourself or the money—do it to help others, and everything will work out. Provide as much value as you can to your audience, whether on social media or in person. Give without expecting anything in return, and it will all fall into place.”
